High heel sneakers give Mick Jagger a lift on the red carpet with lofty L'WrenLast updated at 12:14pm on 3rd April 2008
The Rolling Stones front man slipped on a pair of Nike Air Max trainers complete with raised heels to give him an extra lift at the London premiere of Shine A Light, a Martin Scorcese documentary on the band.
In his stocking feet, Sir Mick stands 5ft 10ins compared to the US designer's 6ft2ins.

But with Mick's platforms and some well-rehearsed leg-bending by the helpful L'Wren, the pair looked almost the same height.
Maybe he was borrowing the idea from the Stones' 1964 tune High Heel Sneakers, though thankfully he neglected to bring the 'wig hat' and 'boxing gloves' he also tells his 'baby' to wear 'cause you know you're gonna knock 'em dead'. Clearly L'Wren wasn't listening either to the tune, which fans will remember starts 'Put your red dress on baby, cause we're going out tonight'. She wore blue. In any event, Mick, 64, was also joined by his bandmates Ronnie Wood, 60, Charlie Watts, 66, and Keith Richards, 64 ? who all beamed for photographers in various states of dress, or more like undress.
Charlie was as sharp as ever in a velvet suit and white cravat. Keith was, as ever, in pirate chic.

That in mind, who can blame them for having an awful lot to smile about as they posed up.
Film-maker Scorcese recorded the band over a two-day period at the Beacon Theatre in New York in 2006. Footage from the show is mixed with old archive footage and backstage interviews.

The lead singer left the cinema before the film began. It had been rumoured that he would head straight to Highbury for Arsenal's game against Liverpool. In fact he headed to Mayfair to dine with his girlfriend.
