A prosecutor in Utah says kidnapping and aggravated murder charges have been filed against a young man accused of killing a 7-year-old Asian immigrant. The murder charge carries a possible death sentence. But Salt Lake County District Attorney Lohra Miller says she hasn't decided whether to seek that penalty against Esar Met. Miller's announcement on Tuesday comes a week after the body of Hser Ner Moo (SER-nah-moo) was found in Met's apartment. Hser's family lived in the same apartment complex in South Salt Lake. The prosecutor says Hser likely was strangled or suffocated and was sexually abused. Hser and her family moved to Utah last summer as refugees from Myanmar, formerly known as Burma.
