A spokesman said the club was "fully committed" to helping police with their inquiries. He said: "David Sullivan and Karren Brady on behalf of Birmingham City Football Club were invited to cooperate with a City of London Police investigation and have happily done so. "By long-standing appointment, they have willingly attended interviews today. "Birmingham City Football Club is fully committed to helping the police with their inquiries. "For the avoidance of doubt, no charges have been brought. "We have been requested by the police not to comment further whilst their inquiry is ongoing."
A police spokeswoman said the pair have been released on bail. Brady, 39, became the UK's youngest managing director when Birmingham City floated on the stock market in 1997. She is also chairman of Kerrang! magazine and non-executive director of Channel 4, Mothercare and Sport England. Sullivan, 59, the multi-millionaire former proprietor of the Daily Sport and Sunday Sport, co-owns Birmingham City with brothers David and Ralph Gold.
A further seven people, believed to include Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp, remain on bail in connection with the inquiry.

Last November officers arrested a series of high-profile figures in the national game in a controversial series of raids.
Among them were Redknapp, Portsmouth chief executive Peter Storrie, former chairman Milan Mandaric, former player Amdy Faye and agent Willie McKay. A City of London Police spokeswoman said: "A 59-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman were today arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to defraud and false accounting, as part of the City of London Polices ongoing investigation into football corruption.
"They have been released on bail.
"Because bail dates are subject to extension and change at short notice we will not be releasing details. If the individuals are released from bail or charged, this information will be released to the media immediately.
"A total of seven other people remain on bail in connection with the investigation.
"If any of these individuals are released from bail or charged, details will be made public."
Detectives are believed to be focussing on Faye's transfers from Auxerre to Portsmouth in August 2003 and Portsmouth to Newcastle in January 2005.
Mandaric was Portsmouth chairman at the time of his arrival to and departure from the south coast club. McKay is believed to have been his agent.
Redknapp was Portsmouth manager when Faye arrived in 2003. The player has since signed for Charlton and joined Rangers on a season-long loan last August.
