MILAN, Italy (AP) — Officials in the Italian resort of Lake Garda say a stuntman was gravely injured in a car crash while filming the new James Bond film.

A spokesman for the northern town of Limone sul Garda says the stuntman suffered serious head injuries when he and another stuntman crashed during a car chase sequence on a winding lakeside road.

Marco Girardi says the stuntman underwent surgery in a hospital in nearby Verona. He said Thursday that the second stuntman was only slightly injured.

The accident occurred on the last day of filming at the lake Wednesday.

It is the second accident on the Italian set of "Quantum of Solace." On Saturday an Aston Martin went off the road while being delivered to the set and plunged into Lake Garda.
